‘Legally Blind’ tells the story of two attorneys, significantly affected by an event in their past, and about how this event crashes into their present when they are appointed defending attorneys for the man who was responsible for the event.

Chelsea Turner lost her father and a significant part of her eyesight in a bomb blast on a family restaurant in 1988, perpetrated by Joel Radebe, who was granted amnesty by the Truth and Reconciliation commission and, in 2018, is accused of killing his intimate partner. Kaylin Adams only realises later that she too has a personal stake in the attack. Each one must find the strength to look at these two convictions as separate and unrelated events. They must find the courage to be ‘blind’ to their own emotions and the anger and bitterness of their mothers, to seek justice for the man who, they come to realise, fully deserves it. Only then can these two protagonists stretch themselves by questioning whether they are seeking justice or revenge and, in reaching this conclusion, finding the real murderer.
