Stephanie du Toit resides in Brackenfell, with her husband, son and Dachshund, Faf, who follows her like a shadow. After retiring from a corporate career in 2021, she fully embraced her passion for writing, drawing inspiration from everyday life, human emotions, and the rich South African landscape.

Du Toit’s short story, Verskietende Ster, was published in the 2024 Toyota Woordfees Short Story Bundle.

Du Toit is busy with a spicy Afrikaans romance novel, Oestyd, that will be published in August 2025.

She completed two creative writing courses at the SA Writers College under the mentorship of accredited author Helen Brain.

Early literary inspiration for Du Toit came from authors such as Roy Campbell (“Horses of the Camargue”) and D.H. Lawrence (Lady Chatterley’s Lover and The Mountain Lion). She is fascinated by a wide range of subjects, including History, Spirituality, Religion, the Supernatural, the Paranormal, the Mars Rover, Archaeology, Aliens, and Rituals. She also has an avid love for research.
