Cara is fifty-four, childless and with very few possessions. After 35 years in Europe, she is on her way back home. She was adopted by the Du Toit family and she and Clarabelle grew up together. After Cara's marriage the two corresponded regularly, but later the war intervened. It's difficult for Cara to readjust to her Afrikaans family. They received her with great fanfare, but it feels as if she will be traveling for the rest of her life. Has she finally reached her destination?
