About the event
The writer puts on one shoe, the mentor the other. Together they walk through the territory of the book. Five writers who have or are in the process of self-publishing, reflect on their writing journey and share their themes while considering their mentorship relationship with Dorian Haarhoff. Roger Chennells’ and Janet Bytheway’s books will be on sale at the event. The other three participants, Carmen Burls, Margaret du Toit and Yvonne Dobson intend to have their books completed for the 2026 Indie Authors Rise Up festival.
Speaker: Dorian Haarhoff - Story-teller, poet and writing mentor. A former Prof of English Literature (Namibia) he now facilitates writing and story-telling wordshops. Dorian is passionate about developing innate creativity and imagination. His wordshops are based on his books, The Writer’s Voice workbook and Route 77. He has mentored writers for over 30 years.
